About the opportunity 

Sydney Pharmacy School is seeking an academic staff at Lecturer level to lead outstanding research programs within the broad area of clinical practice, health service research and pharmaceutical and pharmacy policy.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with staff based at the Charles Perkins Centre.  The Charles Perkins Centre is a multidisciplinary Centre at the University of Sydney aimed at easing the burden of chronic disease by translating the work of the University of Sydney into real-world solutions.
Areas of expertise of the successful candidate include but are not limited to evidence-based health care; pharmacotherapeutics; health services research, pharmaceutical policy, health ethics, quality use of medicines, patient-centred care including written medicines information and professional pharmacy services like medication and chronic disease management.  
As an inspirational teacher in areas that intersect the research themes and learning and teaching requirements of pharmacy students, you will help the Sydney Pharmacy School to maintain and further improve its international reputation in both pharmacy teaching and research. 

You will join a vibrant and high-achieving school that trains approximately 20 percent of all pharmacists in Australia and is an active partner in the Faculty of Medicine and Health.  You will be expected to have or establish a research track record relevant to practice, policy and health services research.

About you

a PhD in a relevant field 
demonstrated contributions to independent as well as collaborative research with evidence that this research has had impact in and/or beyond the field of pharmacy 
publication record in high-quality (ERA recognised) international journals relevant to the field of pharmacy or related cognate disciplines 
the ability to teach within the broad area of pharmacy in both undergraduate and postgraduate professional pharmacy courses 
the ability to establish independent and collaborative research programs that complements and adds to the school’s existing research strengths 
evidence of plans for research programs that will attract nationally competitive research funding or consultancies
the ability to embrace cultural change and to embody a collaborative and cooperative ethos in all aspects of academic life. 

International research experience at a reputable university or research institution and registration or eligibility for registration as a Pharmacist or health professional in Australia with contemporary practice experience would be highly regarded.
